Marys Seacole (2023) x Production Manager

This production is one of the most challenging productions presented by DGSD in season 22-23. The production Marys Seacole was performed at Yale repertory theatre. The design features a 16' wide, 12' tall wall that falls down during the performance. As the production manager, tracking through the plan about the automation from limited resources and being aware of safety hazard risk management is the most challenging part of this production.

"Mary Seacole, a Jamaican-British businesswoman and pioneering nurse practitioner, heroically provided desperately needed critical medical care to British soldiers during the Crimean War. Using Seacole’s acclaimed autobiography as a starting point, playwright Jackie Sibblies Drury brings forth a chorus of “Marys” from the abyss of history to tell of the unseen, uncelebrated labor of care provided by mothers, daughters, nannies, and nurses across centuries."
